Dear Fellow ABATE Members,
One of the most important things about riding our motorcycles is staying balanced. If we suddenly lose balance, then all sorts of things will happen and the laws of nature will usually have us suffer dire consequences! The relationship between us and the road will rapidly disintegrate. The goal of successfully reaching our destination will be gone. We are sure you will agree that poor riding technique is another way of being unbalanced. We may be on the road many times and we may go many miles without a disastrous event. However, we will eventually suffer the consequences. It will eventually catch up with us.
We must then, be able to question ourselves about whether our relationship with God is in balance. Is the relationship between you and God in balance? Are we balanced on that road of life that will take us to a successful destination in eternity?
Some say, that in order to get ourselves balanced on that road, we must give up some of our relationships and some of our friends. The example we see is in Luke 2:52 – "And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men." This definitely describes a balanced life! Jesus was welcomed into the homes of sinners, had relationships with all sorts of people, even was tempted by the devil, and was able to maintain a balanced relationship with His Father in Heaven! His relationship with the world has been likened to a boat floating on the sea, without letting the sea get in the boat and sinking it.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, "He has planted eternity in the hearts of men." No matter how you feel about God or your relationship with Him, you must have at least one time thought, "What is out there, once this life is over?" or "If I were to end this journey on the road now, what will be my destination?" Perhaps you are even thinking, 'How can I have a balanced life and be pleasing to God?" or "How can I be sure that the rest of my life is balanced, so that I can reach a successful eternity?"
We challenge you to give up one Sunday morning to join us for Church and listen to some answers. You will not be alone. You can sit with us. We wear our vests and patches when we go. We ride our motorcycle (we're on our trike, now) to Church on Sundays. Our Pastor and his wife are bikers. And, we usually have other bikers there, as well. We usually find a place to eat together (Dutch treat) after the service is over.
Just call and/or email us if you will feel more comfortable knowing that we will personally be there on a particular Sunday morning. 267-8641 or tprovenz@comcast.net
Blessings,
Tom and Kathy
