Dear Fellow ABATE Members,

It was a blessing to address you, during the 9-11 "Let's Roll" Rally.

I am convinced that most of the blame for the attack lies with those foreign terrorists who planned and executed it.  We are the victims.  However, as you look to the Scriptures, you may ask, did God allow this act/attack to happen, in order to send this country a message?  Please, open your Bibles and decide for yourselves.

9-11 "Let's Roll" Rally Message

It has been three years since the tragic happenings of 9-11 and the attack by foreign invaders on our own soil.

I am sure that some people blame God for what happened, they blame the terrorists, they blame the lack of security by various officials, they blame the Islamic faith, and they blame the politicians. But, are we correctly placing the blame in all the right places?

If we go to the book of Jeremiah, we can read the following passages.  Please listen carefully, Jeremiah 4 14 O Jerusalem, wash the evil from your heart and be saved. How long will you harbor wicked thoughts? 15 A voice is announcing from Dan, proclaiming disaster from the hills of Ephraim. 16 "Tell this to the nations, proclaim it to Jerusalem: 'A besieging army is coming from a distant land, raising a war cry against the cities of Judah. 17 They surround her like men guarding a field, because she has rebelled against me,' " declares the LORD . 18 "Your own conduct and actions have brought this upon you. This is your punishment. How bitter it is! How it pierces to the heart!"  Again, please listen carefully, Jeremiah 5 15 O house of Israel," declares the LORD , "I am bringing a distant nation against you- an ancient and enduring nation, a people whose language you do not know, whose speech you do not understand. And, we read in Jeremiah 1110 They have returned to the sins of their forefathers, who refused to listen to my words. They have followed other gods to serve them. Both the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken the covenant I made with their forefathers. 11 Therefore this is what the LORD says: 'I will bring on them a disaster they cannot escape. Although they cry out to me, I will not listen to them.

God has brought and is bringing judgment and calamity to those nations that have broken covenant with Him and have broken His laws.  Some of the things that brought judgment upon Israel, as described in the book of Jeremiah are: evil in men’s hearts, sin, breaking of covenants with God, idolatry, wickedness, vain thoughts, denying the word of God, and speaking falsely of God.

We read in Jeremiah 5 9 Should I not punish them for this?" declares the LORD . "Should I not avenge myself on such a nation as this?  I therefore submit to you that God would not be true to his word if He did not allow foreigners to attack those nations who have sinned against Him.

As we look at this nation and apply the word of God, can we begin to realize that the protective hand of God is beginning to be withdrawn?  Will we begin to learn from scriptures that there is a limit on how much God will allow His children, his creation to disobey His commandments? When we are attacked as a nation, are we so blind to only see the attackers, rather than seeing ourselves as sinners who God is trying to get our attention?

If we take a look at how God’s principles work in the scriptures, the attack upon America by these foreign invaders should be no surprise.  We should understand that God has brought judgment to us.

I firmly believe that God has given us hope and a way out of our dilemma, as a country.  As a good Father, I believe he will discipline us.  Also, as a good Father, He will provide His blessings. Let us look one more time to the scriptures, the Word of God…

God says in, Leviticus 26 3 " 'If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, 4 I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees of the field their fruit. 5 Your threshing will continue until grape harvest and the grape harvest will continue until planting, and you will eat all the food you want and live in safety in your land. 6 " 'I will grant peace in the land, and you will lie down and no one will make you afraid. I will remove savage beasts from the land, and the sword will not pass through your country.

God further says, 2 Chronicles 7 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Let us pray. "Dear God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; we come to you and ask forgiveness of our sins individually and as a nation.  We ask that you would restore your hand of protection around us and once again give us peace and security.  We would ask that you would restore those families that were directly affected with the tragic losses that took place, three years ago today in Washington DC, Pennsylvania, and New York City. Lord, help us to better understand the spiritual reasons behind these events and to better understand and know you.  We also pray for our nation’s troops for You to be with them and with their families. We ask for your hand of intervention to bring about the quick and safe return of our troops and to bring a secure peace.  Thank you, God for blessing this great land that we live in.  We thank you God for your Son, Jesus who died for us and we would pray that those who don't know you, will be touched by the Holy Spirit to confess their sins and receive Jesus into their hearts as Lord and Savior.  I pray for all those who rode their motorcycles here, today.  Put a hedge of protection around them and Guardian angels near them to give them a safe trip home. All this we ask, in the name of Jesus. Amen."

Blessings,
